Reuben Ingber is the aspiring triathlete.

I have a distinct memory from Middle School of having trouble completing the mile for the Presidential Fitness Challenge in under the 20-minutes allotted. My real running journey didn't start until about seven years after watching hundred of different people run the Marine Marathon in Washington, D.C. I said,

"Fuck it, let me try this couch to 5k thing"

I download an app, then 2 or 3 months I toed the line in Crystal City, VA for the first of 4 5K Fridays. Over those 4 weeks, I realized a new love of running. From there I built my way up to running longer distance, 10K, Half marathons and more. Finally in 2014, I ran the TCS NYC Marathon (5:15:59). I trained hard and complete in my goal time, under 5:20. I was ecstatic.

Over the years that followed I've done an odd mix of running. Until July 2016 when I volunteered at the NYC Triathlon Expo and realized my next goal. In 2017 I trained for and raced the NYC Triathlon (3:23:21). I loved every minute of the training and today, November 2017 I am in the best shape of my life, crushing PRs and gearing up for 2018.

2018 is going to be the craziest year of my "athletic career", I hope you'll join me on the journey!

I was born and raised in New York City. Currently, I am a web developer at Business Insider. I live on Manhattan's Upper East Side with Sarah-Beth, my number 1 cheerleader and beautiful wife.
